ENGIM began its work in northern Senegal in 2016, with the goal of improving the living conditions of rural communities and strengthening collaboration among local authorities. Through vocational training initiatives and support for business development, the organization has contributed over the years to the growth of the agricultural sector, assisting various entities in the transition from subsistence farming to a market-oriented approach.
Today, ENGIM promotes the strengthening of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the country by enhancing the vocational training system and through projects supporting the creation of microenterprises led by individuals from vulnerable groups. Current activities and those planned for the next two years aim to improve local governance systems, make access to employment more inclusive, and strengthen public services and territorial partnership networks.
In particular, to address employment and social inclusion needs, short technical and vocational training programs will be launched, offered close to the beneficiaries and aimed at facilitating entry into the labor market. At the same time, new entrepreneurial initiatives will be promoted, and internships will be established at local businesses willing to host participants, supporting the expansion of the dual system in vocational training.
